Welcome to the official website of the Shark Waves swim team. This is a really special team, with lots of amazing people and we’re delighted you’re interested in what’s going on!
We’re a team for adult athletes with intellectual disabilities and operate under the guidelines of Special Olympics, New York. We practice in Mineola, NY on most Friday nights, from February through June, and compete in several regional meets during the season.
Currently, the COVID pandemic has suspended all Special Olympics activities, including ours. The Shark Waves team is committed to coming back, as soon as we are allowed to safely do so. Until then, stay tuned for some virtual activities we are planning…
